Hi, I'm Abby
I'm the person behind A.Manning Photography, a relaxed and natural wedding photographer based in Dover, Kent.
I've loved photography for as long as I can remember. I first picked up an old family camera when I was 13 and started photographing anything that caught my eye — mostly nature and the world around me. By 14, I knew photography was something I wanted to pursue, so I chose it for GCSE, achieving a Grade 7.
I then went on to study an Extended Diploma in Art & Design, specialising in Photography, where I was awarded a Distinction.
Over six years later, photography is still a huge part of my life — and something I genuinely can't imagine not doing. I love being creative, seeing things from my own perspective and, most importantly, capturing moments that you can look back on for years to come.
For me, it's all about the people and the memories.
Your wedding day is full of moments that happen once and can never be recreated — the nerves before walking down the aisle, your grandparents' reactions, your friends laughing until they cry, the hugs, the happy tears and the slightly questionable dance moves later in the evening!
I want you to remember how your wedding felt, not just what it looked like.
That's why my approach is relaxed and natural. I don't want you spending your day constantly posing for a camera. I'll give you a little direction when you need it, but I'll also step back and let things happen.
My aim is for you to look through your photographs in 20 years' time and be transported straight back to that day — remembering the people, the laughter, the emotions and all the little moments you might otherwise have forgotten.
So why Weddings?
When I'm not photographing weddings, you'll usually find me walking my crazy three-year-old Spaniel, Flo, spending time with my partner, Joe, or enjoying a day out with my family.
I'm also a very creative person outside of photography. Making things is my favourite way to relax, whether that's drawing, painting, sewing, crochet, mosaic art, vinyl projects or getting carried away with my Cricut Joy.
And finally, an important fact about me:
I absolutely love Italian food... but put a juicy beef burger in front of me and I'm probably choosing the burger.
